Welcome to Patient POV, a podcast that aims to provide a platform for individuals experiencing chronic health conditions to share their stories, resources, and tricks for managing their lives as patients. Based in Ontario, Canada, our podcast focuses on the chronic health community and features interviews with individuals who have different conditions as well as healthcare professionals who help people!
Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of creating a podcast? We want to take you on a journey through the process of bringing Patient POV to life. From the initial idea to the recording and editing stages, we'll give you an inside look at the challenges and triumphs we've encountered along the way.
One of the most important aspects of our podcast is connecting with individuals who have chronic health conditions. We believe that their stories are powerful and can provide support and inspiration to others in similar situations. However, reaching out to potential guests and building those connections hasn't always been easy. It takes time and effort to find individuals who are willing to share their experiences, but when we do, it's incredibly rewarding. When we started, I was sending DMs through instagram to patient and chronic health advocates hoping someone would be willing to do an episode with me. Now, we have people asking me if they could be a guest which is really cool to experience!
When we first started, we were recording episodes that would be posted that week or some weeks we didn't have an episode ready and we wouldn't be able to post anything. Now we have episodes recorded weeks in advance and guests lined up for weeks after that!
Once we have a guest lined up, the recording process begins. We strive to create a comfortable and safe environment for our guests to share their stories. We want them to feel heard and validated, knowing that their experiences matter. Our conversations are organic but with guiding questions to help us along the way.
After the recording is complete, the editing stage begins. This is where we fine-tune the episodes, ensuring that they are engaging and informative for our listeners. We also add in any additional resources or information that may be helpful to our audience which can be found in the show notes of an episode.
Looking towards the future, we have exciting plans for the podcast. We aim to include more healthcare professionals who can provide their perspective and knowledge on various health conditions. Their expertise will further enhance the resources and support we offer to our listeners.
At Patient POV, we understand the importance of creating a supportive community for those living with chronic health conditions. We want to be a source of inspiration, information, and connection for our audience. By sharing stories and resources, we hope to empower individuals to take control of their health and find comfort in knowing that they are not alone.
Through this behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the Patient POV podcast, we have shared our dedication to serving the chronic health community and our mission to provide a platform for individuals to share their stories. As we continue to grow and evolve, we are excited to expand our reach and make a positive impact in the lives of those living with chronic health conditions.
This is just the short version of what goes in to making the Patient POV podcast successful. If you have any additional questions, comments, or suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out throughout our contact page.
